I wake up in the morning With a big smile on my face And it never feels out of place
[/b] Life wasn't perfect, and that was really upsetting Sharpay. She knew that other people's lives weren't but hers was supposed to be, her and her family worked very hard so that it could be that way. She used to go to sleep happily with her sleep mask that read 'sweet dreams', and she would have them. Then, in the morning she would put on her pre-approved outfit and go to school where she reigned on high. Now she needed a massage, the sleep mask, and a noise machine just to relax her and tempt her to sleep, but even when her body would relax her mind couldn't be shut off. She was consumed by thoughts, and she didn't like it. Thoughts of Ryan, of evil Troy, and now that skater boy Xander. Her perfect tapestry of a life was quickly unraveling and she was left with yards of frayed strings. It was awful. Besides which, Sharpay didn't know what to do about anything anymore. She wasn't good at showing people that she was vulnerable, even less so now that she had revealed it to Xander and he turned out to be the son of that monster of a principle. She couldn't talk to Ryan, he seemed distant and wouldn't appease her and didn't even seem to care about her many injustices lately. It was that evil Gwen-Stacie's fault. So, this morning she had woken from a restless sleep, late, and rushed out the door barely put together. Thankfully her appearance almost took care of itself (God bless good genes) so she didn't have to worry. Then she had to rush back home and pick up the forgotten Ryan who had been eating breakfast when she rushed out the door--only to see that he had driven himself. Great.
"Ryan, you should have texted me that you had gotten your own ride, as your older sister I'm always worrying over you, you could at least make it easier by being considerate." Sharpay growled, blaming her twin for her being late to first period. The teacher fed from the palm of her hand, though, so it worked out fine. Next was drama, that was the sole class that got her through her miserable day. At least there she was still Queen Bee, she could forget her day and just focus on herself for an hour, as she should. A cat-like smile curved her glossed lips and for the first time that day things felt right, and all because she now stood in front of the door to her domain, also known as, theater class. Ryan opened the door and in she pranced, composed and content. "Don't worry, Mrs. Darbus, I'm here." She announced, sitting in her seat and pulling out a notebook, grinning at Darbus who was checking off students as they entered. tag -- Everyone outfit -- See above lyrics -- Gives You Hell - All American Rejects notes -- Let it beginnnn :] I have a plan, btw. Troy Bolton had woken up that morning with a small smile on his face as he streached his aching bones. He looked at the time and saw that he awoke before his alarm was due to be set off, which proved that he was infact in a good mood this morning. Not only was his father laying off about College choices (for now) but his truck was basically running on its own now, without the need to push and he finally admitted to Gabriella his true feelings, which she returned. Yup, it was a great day.
He sat on the edge of his bed, looking around his room slightly before slowly getting to to change for school. That was probally the worst thing about this day, actually having to go to school. But, with practice, study and classes he decided he wont have enough time to argue. Fifteen minutes later, Troy was now ready for school, and at that moment his alarm went off. He chuckled quietly to himself, turning it off quickly before going to help himself to some breakfast - something he'd usually eat on the go, but not today. Waiting for the rest of the Bolton family to wake, he wondered if Liz needed a ride with him, unless she decided to bus or ride with their dad. After breakfast, he put his bowl in the sink and sighed..not knowing what to do with the time to spare, so he keys, wallet and bag and headed to the truck and started on his way to school..even if he still had half an hour. Today was a good day for his truck to break down.
After taking a long detour to school, with no need of pushing his way to school. He made it in time for home room just the as bell went. He knocked fists with Zeke and Jason as he took his seat, starting up a conversation with the two, he then turned to the door quickly seeing the Evans' Twins at the door, Sharpay making a small fuss. He rolled his eyes at what she said before turning back to his friends.
Ever since the day at the mall, with Chad. Both Sharpay and Ryan had ignored Troy. In some way's he was glad, meaning Sharpay was leaving both him and Gabriella alone. Although, it did make Drama class and homeroom slightly akaward. He shook the thoughts from his head, laughing slightly as Jason told a lame joke. ((Woah, didnt expect it to be that long! Haha, sorry for rambling on ))

And you're still probably working At a nine-to-five pace I wonder how bad that tastes?
[/b] Homeroom was buzzing with activity, it seemed that only a few people were missing and everyone who was there was talking, laughing, and goofing off. They were so happy to see each other, it made Sharpay sick; after high school was over none of them would remain friends. She would go to Broadway and everyone else would go off to whatever community college they could get into, so why bother winning people over? Besides which, it took way too much time and effort being friendly. Point and case: Troy Bolton.
There he was, chatting with his idiotic basketball friends, acting careless as ever. Sharpay had actually tried to be his friend, and for what? So that he could ignore her? So that he could go out with an average looking mathlete who sang through her nose? Whatever. Sharpay had seen his true, malicious self, he wasn't worth her effort. Her brown eyes turned into glaring slits as she walked past him to get to her seat.
"I see you're geeky little girlfriend isn't here Troy. I'm surprised you can function without her." She muttered with the sweetest smile she could muster, though she felt nauseated just looking at him. "Oh, and Chad isn't here, either. Did you turn him back in to BulliesRUs? I hope you got a decent refund, though he's probably not worth much."
Mrs. Darbus clapped her hands as an indication that class was beginning and set her clipboard down. She was dressed as bohemian as a middle aged woman could get away with and actually stuck her pencil in her bun. "Before we begin, does anyone know where Mr. Danforth and Ms. Montez are?" She asked, glancing at both of their empty seats.

Troy looked around the loud classroom, wondering where Gabriella was. She was never the one to run late to class, even if it was homeroom, she would always be here before him. He soon figured he was realy himself, so let it slide hoping she'd arrive soon. Chad on the other hand, always came late..so that didnt bother him as much.
He turned his attention back to Zeke and Jason, chuckling and nodding in agreement as Zeke told him something. "Oh, Dad told me to tell you guys to meet at the gym during free. He's got some new work-out programme he wants to try" he said, earning nods from both Zeke and Jason, he was about to say something else but was soon interupted by none other than Sharpay Evans..so much for leaving him alone.
He rolled his eyes slightly and turned to her, why Zeke liked this girl he'd never know. "I'm suprised you can't function without Ryan by your side" he retorted, smirking as he high fived Jason. Hearing something else come from Sharpay he shrugged, "Couldn't care less where he is, he's always late" he said simply, wanting to get rid of Sharpay as soon as possible.
He let out a small sigh of relief as Ms Darbus started homeroom, turning in his seat to face the front slowly as she addressed the class. He shrugged at her question, figuring she was talking to him..being the best friend of one boyfriend of the other. "Chad sleeping and not sure where Brie is.." he said, muttering as he looked around the classroom, wondering if he had missed her or something. He raised an eyebrow when he didnt see her and shrugged, he'll give her a call later..he didnt want to risk getting his cellphone taken from Ms Darbus, it was probally nothing.

Could her day possibly go any worse? And it was just starting! At first she stayed up until late studying and her alarm clock didn't go off and she overslept... Then there was no hot water in the shower but she realized it too late, when the water actually started running over her, then when she finally got dressed she couldn't find her shoes and then books and finally when she was ready to leave the house, she tripped over the last two steps of the staircase and from the pain she felt she was pretty sure that she twisted her ankle. And of course, by the time she got to the bus station the bus was already gone and she had to walk to school! Limbering
When she got to school the hallways were open, meaning that the bell had rang already, and she was late. REALLY late! Not that she didn't know that already but still... She headed to homeroom as fast as she could and when she got there she stopped in front of the door, trying to calm her breath. When her breathing was even she pushed the door open and walked in Sorry I'm late Miss Darbus! she apologized with an upset tone before she headed at the back of the classroom and collapsed on her seat exhausted... God how much she hated that day!

Sharpay had blamed him for being late. It was expected so he shrugged it off. She had been a bit over protective of him lately. It was all because of Troy and Chad. Ryan's attempts to avoid them were starting to get harder. He decided he would have to just live with them being around, and not get caught alone with ether. Ryan pondered maybe taking up a Martial Art. Perhaps he could fit it in after dance lessons. After all his folks would pay for it.
He entered the classroom and smiled at Miss Darbus. She may be eccentric but she was still his favorite teacher. Ryan followed Sharpay and sat down behind her. He searched the room for his friend Gwen Stacy but, he didn't see her. Ryan started to doodle in his notebook. He noticed Troy sit down in his place but he didn't acknowledge him. He didn't want to inflate the basketball boy's ego any more than it already was.
His sister on the other hand was out for blood. She made some mean remark about Troy being without Gabriella and then one about Chad. Ryan smiled slightly at the comment made about Chad. She was good. He continued to doodle random things on his notebook as he listened. Then Troy said something about Sharpay not functioning without Ryan. He looked over at Troy and glared. He then looked back down at his doodles and, doodled some more. outfit --images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/5600000/HSM3-Screencaps-high-school-musical-3-5698246-642-339.jpg notes -- Yay, Im excited :3

When you see my face Hope it gives you hell Hope it gives you hell
[/b] Sharpay opened her mouth, retort ready and waiting, only to be stomped on by Mrs. Darbus. She fumed in her chair, glaring at Troy and picturing his head explode. How dare he mention Ryan to her after what he'd done? Well, not what he had done, but what he hadn't. It was infuriating, she was so angry she actually lifted her fingers and placed Troy's head between them, popping it. Though it wasn't really enjoyable because when she pulled her fingers apart he was still, in fact, there.
Ah, here came his other half, limping and looking like a mess. Sharpay raised one eyebrow and smirked as Gabriella muffled past her and slid into her seat. Sharpay wanted to whisper a snide remark but Gabriella was too far away to be sufficiently sneaky. Ah well, she would mention it later. She was positive that Gabby would look like the same wet rat an hour from then. Really, it was pathetic that Troy had chosen that over her.
"Ah, Ms. Montez, thank you so much for gracing us with your prescience."" Mrs. Darbus smiled and returned to her desk to pull out a pile of notebook paper. "Today I want to work with you on your creativity. I want each of you to split into pairs of two and write a short sketch for two actors." Sharpay sat erect, tapping her pencil and imagining already the musical sketch she and Ryan could perform. "And to mix things up"--dramatic pause--"I choose your partners. Jason pass out these paper's as I randomly select names." Sharpay turned in her seat and gave Ryan a bewildered expression. What loser would she be paired with? God wouldn't be so cruel as to not let her be paired with Ryan; their numbers were fabulous!
Jason had now begun to pass out multiple sheets as Mrs. Darbus rattled off names. "Ms. Montez, you are paired with Mr. Evans." Sharpay whipped around in her seat, hair flying as she stared in alarm from Gabby to Ryan, obviously not pleased with the pairing. Though her not being with Troy was sickeningly satisfying. Who would she be paired with?!
"Ms. Evans, you get to be paired with our basketball singing extraordinair, Mr. Bolton!" No. Way.

Troy zoned out as Darbus continued talking, usually by now he would be sneaking glances at Gabriella, but she hadnt arrived yet. At the exact point someone pushed the door open, and seemed out of breath when they spoke. Snapping from his thoughts, he looked towards the door and saw Gabriella, and she didnt look to good..not sick, but as if she was rushing to get to school, which was very unlike Gabriella. He made a mental note to ask her what was going on later. He sent Gabriella a small smile as she walked to her desk before turning back to where Darbus was now standing.
He smirked slightly when he saw Sharpay storm off to her desk, missing the glare he got from her brother. He shook his head slightly when he thought about the mall fiasco with Chad, it was months ago now and they Evans' are still making a fuss about it? Cry me a river. When Darbus spoke up about working in pairs today, and he quickly turned to Gabriella and grinned in a sign meaning that they had to work together..but that was soon shot down my none other than Ms Darbus herself. Frowing as he turned back to the front, he looked at Darbus and glared at her ever so slightly.
What Darbus said next shocked him even more. Gabriella working with Ryan? Oh hell no, over his dead body. He knew Ryan had a small crush on Gabriella through out the summer, and if anything this little 'pairing' would just encourage him. Too bad she's taken.
He shook the thoughts from his head, his head jerking up at the next pairing. "You've got to be kidding me.." he mumbled, putting his face in his hands, letting out a sigh. This was going to be a long day.
((Oooh I see where this little plot is going now..tsktsk Shar ))

Ryan listened to Darbus talk as he doodled little stars around his name which he had drawn in as if it were in lights. Visual art was not Ryan's thing, the dance was his thing. Hence he only doodled stars and not elaborate pieces of art onto his notebook. He was taken out of his blissful Broadway doodle world only by the words which Mrs. Darbus had uttered about him working with Gabriellia. "What?!" Ryan accidentally stammered. Had he heard her correctly? Him working with Gabby? He looked over at Troy who definitely didn't look happy. Well, this would be interesting to say the least. He was friends with Gabby and didn't have a problem working with her. Discluding the stress that would be brought on by Troy, this assignment should be fun. He looked over at Gabby and then back at Darbus who continued on her list. When she said Troy would be with Sharpay, Ryan grimaced. That was not a good combo, especially since Sharpay kinda hated Troy right now.

Post by Chad Danforth on Dec 26, 2009 23:23:10 GMT -7
Chad sprinted down the hallway at top speed, swinging his backpack over his shoulder clumsily as he went. The hallways of East High were eerily empty, but this was to be expected. Class had started a good 20 minutes ago, and Chad was late... as usual. No matter how many times he blamed his broken alarm clock for his tardiness, his parents and teachers still frowned upon him getting to school so late.
He came to a screeching halt at his locker. His fingers twirled the lock with vigor. Come on, come on... He urged himself to hurry. His locker door swung open with a gust of air, and he snatched his chemistry text book from the top shelf. With that, he slammed his door shut, causing a sudden burst of noise to disrupt the dead silence in the hall. Again, he bolted around the corner to Darbus's classroom. He mentally cursed whoever was responsible for making theatre class his first class of the day. Not only does Darbus have an irrational dislike toward Chad, she also despises anyone who dares to arrive late to her precious theatre class.
Chad approached Darbus's room, breathing heavily. Although this has become an almost daily routine for Chad, he still hated the awkwardness of being the last one to class. He exhaled as if to compose himself before entering the room with his notoriously loud demeanor.
"Sorry I'm late, Ms. Darbus," Chad apologized out of habit. He knew his attempts would be futile. "...again."
Chad paused at the doorway and quickly glanced around the classroom. Jason was passing out sheets of paper... Great, he probably missed an assignment already. Then he noticed Ryan's somewhat flabbergasted expression, and Troy with his head in his hands. Lastly, his eyes landed on Sharpay who was sporting an outraged expression.... That couldn't be good. Chad quickly took a seat at his desk behind Troy, sliding his backpack off his shoulder. This certainly wasn't a normal way to start class.
"Dude," Chad whispered to Troy, trying to avoid eye contact with Ms. Darbus. "Did I miss something?"

Troy let out an annoyed sigh as he heard both the Evans' twins retort about the pairings. This just wasn't his day, he'd rather be paired up with Rocketman..and that was saying something. He slowly lifted his head, letting his arms drop onto the desk as he turned around slowly to face Gabriella. He shook his head slowly when he caught her gaze before going back in his orginal position.
His head soon snapped up at a familar voice entering the classroom. He couldnt help but smirk at his friends tardiness. Although it happened basically everyday, it was still amusing to see what sort of punishment Chad will recieve. He let out another sigh as Chad took his usual seat behind him and turned slightly in his chair, nodding slowly at his friends question. "The Wicked Witch of the West has paired me with Ice Princess over there" he started, pointing over his shoulder to where he presumed Sharpay was currently sitting. "And poodle boy with my girlfriend" he continued, shaking his head slightly in anger. "I dont even know what the bloody assignment is, and I already hate it"

Gabriella quickly nodded her head at miss Darbus before she headed to her seat and collapsed on it, trying to regain composure and get her breathing back to normal. She opened her bag and took her notepad and pen out ready to take notes if needed be. Which she didn't really think so, since this was Drama Class, but she was always prepared just in case. She heard miss Darbus explaining that today their assignment was to write a sketch for two actors wanting to test their creativity and she quickly wrote that down... She would probably get paired with Taylor, or Troy, like always... Nothing new there... So she just leaned at the back of her chair paying attention at the front of the class at what the drama teacher was saying. She noticed Troy turning to look at her, meaning that he thought the exact same thing and she gave a small smile.
When she heard Darbus saying that she would pick the pairs this time she inwardly arched an eyebrow, and watched as Jason passed the papers, giving him a small smile when he handed her hers. Gabriella heard her name being called and she looked at the teacher trying to slowly process what she just said... She smiled softly and got up picking her notepad and pen. Ryan was a friend of hers after all... And they worked well together during the summer when he directed the staff for the Midsummer Talent Show,... He was really talented. When she heard that Troy would be paired with Sharpay she bit her lip not to say anything. Gabriella watched as Chad walked in late as usual and she rolled her eyes. Gabriella gave Ryan an encouraging smile before turning to Troy and giving him a cautious look meaning "Do not do anything stupid!" She picked her things up and headed to where Ryan was sitting...

When you see my face hope it gives you hell hope it gives you hell
[/b] Oh please, as if Troy could possibly feel worse about this than her. That wasn't possible. There had once been a time when being paired with Troy Bolton would have made her day, even the mention of Sharpay's name besides his would have given her cause to applaud the moment. Now it just added to her horrible morning; really, she didn't think that this day could get any worse.
The class fell silent as the abnormal partners were named, it was like Darbus was giving each of them the death sentence. Then, the silence was destroyed by the arrival of Chad Danforth. Even though Chad was usually late Mrs. Darbus never failed to look just as perturbed at his tardiness than the day before. "Ah, Mr. Danforth, perhaps if you paid more attention to my acting expertise than maybe your apologies would be more believable." The woman continued to name pairings, each one resulting in a groan. She was walking down the aisles behind Jason, stopping conversations and texting as she went.
"I thought I explained the assignment perfectly well, Mr. Bolton." Her voice was laced with edge and she stood in front of Troy and Chad, her eyes narrowed on the pair. Every student in the room was watching with interest. "I suggest that you work on your listening skills. You and your 'little dawg, Toto, too." Mrs. Darbus had clearly heard his Wicked Witch comment. Several hushed giggles and comments erupted around the room, but they ceased when Mrs. Darbus eagle eye turned on the others in the room. She was being a bit harsh but Sharpay couldn't be any happier. She smirked at the pair gleefully.
"Mr. Danforth you are paired with the new Mr. Volenti, and we will all welcome him with open arms. Now everyone find a space in the room to be alone with your partner." At once Sharpay's cat-like grin disappeared and she rolled her eyes, irritatedly tapping her pencil and putting off her 'sentence' until all of the other students had found their 'spot'. They would probably just stay in their seats as he was right in front of her. It wasn't convenient to talk but that wouldn't be happening. Sharpay would write the skit and that would be that.

After signing himself into the new school, Kyle quickly glanced over his new schedule to see what his first period was. The rest of the day didn't matter as of right now, due to classes already beginning so he figured he'd get used to the school as the day went on. On his way down the hall, he came across his assigned locker to which he put the code in for and put some books inside. He didnt want to carry everything around with him on the first day.
He let out a small sigh as he closed the locker, continuing down the hall to where he presumed the Drama class was supposed to be. How he ended up in a Drama class, he wouldnt know. He had enough of that back in Roswell. But neither the less, Kyle wasnt one to give up a challenge.
Kyle soon paused, as he came to a classroom with bright posters on the door. Looking down at the schedule in his hand, and then at the number on the classroom door he noticed he arrived at his first class. He took a deep breath before moving into the doorway, looking around slightly as he saw the class in progress. He raised an eyebrow when he heard a boy at the front talk to his friend about some assignment, before hearing a sharp retort by the teacher herself. He then heard his own name, well..at least he thought he did. He figured this was the time to make his presence known.
"Okay, first of all. Its Valenti, with an 'A'" he said, walking into the class, eyes on the teacher. "And second, am I in the right place? I didnt realise I was in Oz" he said with a slight smirk, first impressions always counted. He then realised he was already given an assignment, moving his glance to his 'partner' for this project. He had wild hair, and looked like a jock..so Kyle was right at home. Maybe he'd make a friend out of the boy. He shrugged slightly at the thought before handing some paperwork to Darbus, "Guess i'll be taking a seat now.." he said, moving to seat which was vacant next to said boy with wild hair.

Chad smirked at his friend's response, but instantly recoiled as Ms. Darbus approached the pair. He instinctively slid down in his chair as she made her daily comment on his tardiness. Chad flashed a strange look at Troy as Darbus continued to prattle on. That's when she announced Chad's partner for the assignment he still hasn't been briefed on. He spun around and scanned the room wildly.
"Who?" He asked aloud. His eyes landed on an unfamiliar boy standing at the front of the class. He appeared cool enough to associate with, but Chad has never been one to accept new things willingly. As the boy--presumably named Kyle--took a seat by his, Chad offered him a tentative smile.
"Hey, man. I'm Chad," He paused for a moment before realizing that it would be polite to shake his hand. Chad extended his hand toward Kyle. "So I'm guessing you're new, huh?"
