Harmony looked at the manager, then back at Oz, then back at the manager. She looked down and got her stuff off of the table. She followed Oz and walked out the door.
She seemed a bit in shock at first, and upset. "Wow, I've never gotten kicked out of Starbucks before...or have gotten someone else kicked out..." she bit her lip and looked up at Oz. "I'm really sorry about this-oh! You're all wet!" She pulled out a pack of tissues from her bag and tried to pat him dry with two of them. She realized how hopeless this was as she tried to dry him off.
She laughed slightly as she said, "I bet you really don't wanna go with me now." She was referring to the dance.

Oz walked besides Harmony, sort of shell shocked, really. He had never been kicked out...anywhere. Well, he had been, but not any public places, and certainly not for disruption. He seemed very thoughtful as they approached his car, he hadn't noticed how his shirt clung to him and that the wind chilled him.
"Hmm?" He looked down at Harmony who looked supremely upset over this. Immedietly his concern for being kicked out vanished and was replaced by concern for her becoming content again.
"Oh, don't worry about it, Harmony, really, it's okay." Oz answered, his sincerity apparent through everyword. "I mean, I don't even go there that often." And now I can't... his improper side complained. He inwardly kicked himself for the thought.
Suddenly she laughed, and though it was a sign of pleasure the noise wasn't right, it sounded bittersweet. His forehead creased with concern but when she mentioned the dance he looked away, emberassed about his lack of grace when answering before.
"You were...serious about that..?" Oswald asked bashfully, his voice soft and vulnerable. He still couldn't believe someone like her would want to go with someone like him.

Harmony looked up at him in confusion, "Yes," She paused and smiled slightly, "I was." She found herself staring into his eyes again and feeling breathless as she did so. It was hard to look away. She turned slightly red and looked down, quickly braking the mood.
She giggled and shook her head, "Of course I was serious. Why wouldn't I be?" She just didn't understand why someone would joke about taking someone to the dance. She thought that would be really mean and really rude. Who would do something like that? She stopped trying to pat dry his arms with tissue after realizing how hopeless this was.

Oz had already been watching her for her response, feeling very vulnerable. Afterall, this was the turning point between whether he was being joked at again or if she actually wanted him to take her to the dance. If it was a joke he would think he would be used to it but it would still hurt; she was really sweet and pretty. If it was the latter, which he might've been even more nervous about, he wouldn't know how to approprietly respond.
Finally the moment ended, the long wait, which seemed like minutes, but was actually seconds, had passed. He found himself still staring at her, thoughts rushing through his head. She was serious! A girl like her, a cheerleader, queen of popularity, and someone who was more than likely familiar with the opposite sex, wanted him to take her to the dance.
Seeing her look away he realised he should respond. She spoke in his stead, though and he smiled at her sweet demeanor. He then noticed the tapping on his arm which was her trying to dry him. He had been so bewildered by her that he hadn't noticed until that moment. He was surprised that he hadn't felt or ackknowledged it before. He grinned.
"I don't know...I'm just," He sighed, grin shrinking to a small smile. "I guess I'm just not used to doing..this." Oz gestured to her and then him.

Harmony tilted her head to the side a bit confused. What was he talking about? He gestured to him and her, hmm, what could it mean? A light bulb clicked on in her head and Harmony somewhat understood what Oz had been trying to say. "Oh! You mean talking to girls?" she whispered. Harmony then added,"or...being with a girl-" she paused and thought that didn't sound too right, "not in that way of course! I mean, you know, hanging out."

Oz laughed awquwardly and looked around, starting to notice the wary and dissaproving glances they were getting. He decided to focus on the posetive and looked back at her. Hearing her babble he smiled lightly, then he heard her. "Oh! Oh no, talking to girls. Not...y'know. His voice started higher and louder and then turned quiet, his face pink, and his smile gone. The thought of being with a girl...well, it was true what they said, guys did think about it a lot. Oz was the only one who shot the thought down immedietly, if he dwelled on it he got bloody noses. Besides, he felt wrong doing that and it was so disrespectful to women. He rubbed his neck nervously, looking at the ground as well.

Harmony giggled at his bashfulness. Oz was such a silly boy. She then remembered her original question. She looked at him and said matter-of-factly, "So, you wanna go?" She nudged him, "It will be tons of fun, and you don't have to dance if you don't want too." She waited for his answer again.

Oz smiled a closed-mouth smile at her and thought about it. It would be in a crowded place, a social event with dancing, dim lighting, extroidinarily loud music...it would be totally out of character, that was for sure. Finally he shrugged, throwing caution to the wind and smiled. "Yes, I would." Then he opened Harmony's car door for her and entered on his side.
(Are we done with this board?)
