It was a cloudy afternoon, and looked like it could possibly rain sometime that day. Not many people were at the park because of this. Of course who would go to the park during possibly rainy conditions? Well, one Ryan Evans would.
The blue eyed boy entered the park, brushing some blonde hair back into place under his white kangol hat with broad red strips on each side. He smiled at the emptiness of the place and headed for the baseball field.
Other then his hat Ryan was wearing, a red t-shirt with thin white stripes and white docker pants. He also wore white shoes with red stripes. Now it wasn't Ryan's intent to wear school colors. He had just put this fabulous outfit on without even realizing its expression of school spirit.
He got to his destination and saw that the contraption that shoots baseballs had been left there. Ryan was happy about this and turned it on. He hadn't read the side of the machine that clearly had a label that stated, "property of coach Bolton".
Ryan got ready with his bat, behind the plate. The first ball shot at him and he missed it. Ryan was warming up, after all. The second one shot and he hit it lightly, not sending it very far.
((tag: anyone! ^^))

Troy wondered through the park, hoping to find the baseball shooter his dad had left at the park earlier in the day. He looked around the park, up and down. He was wearing a light-blue polo shirt, which made his eyes clearly stand out. The shirt was accompined by a pair of old jeans, and sneakers. He was able to spot the contraption from the water fountain, and made his way over. He saw someone hitting a few balls, rasing and eyebrow a concernd Troy walked up to the figure. "Oh, hey Ryan" He said, seeing that the person was Ryan Evans.
((you said anyone =P))

Ryan hit another baseball, far into the field. His concentration was broken when someone called his name. He was startled, not expecting anyone he knew to be at the park and turned his head. He saw it was only Troy Bolton...why was he here...and talking to him? Even during 'Twinkle Towne' Ryan and the jock barely spoke to each other.
He blinked, confused a moment, and replied, "Hey." Ryan had failed to remember that the machine shooting baseballs was still going. A ball shot out and Ryan jumped out of the way, so not to get hit. He stumbled, loosing his footing and fell down on his butt. Ryan sighed, feeling like an idiot.
He was still a little angry with Troy for breaking his sister's heart. Sharpay may be demanding at times but, she was still his sister. Ryan didn't understand the whole thing, he had only heard the story his sister had told him which made Troy look like the bad guy. In reality, it was a misunderstanding on both sides.

Troy looked at Ryan, "I uh..just came by to get the machine" He said, pointing. "Dad left it behind" He told Ryan. He saw Ryan fall to the ground, and went toward the machine switching it off. "I hate these things, everytime i use one i end up getting hit" He said, hoping to cheer Ryan up.

Ryan sighed and nodded. He really didn't know what to say to Troy. He was a little angry but didn't really know how to express it. Most of the time when he was mad he would clam up and not tell anyone.
He stood up and brushed himself off. He remembered something Troy had said. Ryan slowly walked over to him, "Your dad's machine?" he rubbed the back of his neck with his hand, "I had no idea..." Then he was curious, which out trumped his anger for the moment, "Does your dad coach baseball too?"

Troy looked at Ryan with a raised eyebrow, "No. He also teaches PE" He told Ryan. "We've just had this thing for a while now, he bought Liz out to pitch some balls..yesterday" He continued.
((does that count as Godmoding? Saying Liz came down.. i always get confused))

"Oh." Ryan nodded his head in understanding. He didn't really want Troy to question him about his sudden interest in baseball. His curiosity quenched for now, his mind wandered back to the situation with his sister and the dance. Ryan asked the basketball boy nonchalantly, "So, you're going to the dance with Gabriella now?" (um, Im not sure...it doesn't seem like godmoding to me...so it's fine )

Troy looked at Ryan, "..Yeah" He said quietly stumbling on the one word. "I didnt mean to hurt your sister, but i didnt exactly agree to go with her" He told Ryan, knowing he wouldve of either overheard Sharpay and himself fighting, or Sharpay would have told him afterwards.

Ryan blinked...wow, it was like Troy had read his mind...weird. Troy hadn't agreed to go with her? Ryan looked down, "That's not what I heard..." Then he looked back up at the jock, repeating his words, "Didn't mean to hurt her?" He looked at him in disbelief, "Well, you did."

Troy looked at Ryan, "Well what you heard was wrong" He said. Troy then looked down at his feet, then back up at Ryan. "I know i did" He said, "But i didnt agree to go with her, so really she hurt herself.."

Ryan had thought the conversation was over and had started to walk away but, Troy continued talking. He stopped and turned around, "Look Troy, Sharpay may be annoying at times but, she's my sister," he shrugged, "and sometimes, I don't like it when she gets burned." He looked away, over at the park, "She wasn't very happy after you left." He looked back at Troy, "I know who's fault that is." Ryan had been pretty upset with Troy. He seemed like a nice guy, and then he went and did something like this. Ryan never really trusted the jocks, this was just another reason not to trust them.
(sorry if I'm a bit OC I need to read more High School Musical fiction with Ryan in it to get back in the game >.<)

Troy looked at Ryan walking away, he too started walking before Ryan turned around. He nodded, not knowing what to say. He looked up at Ryan and shrugged, "Yeah, i guess that part was my fault" He said.
((Thats okay =) ..those 3 sentences took me 10 minutes to type. I couldnt think of what to say ><; ..maybe i need to start reading fics again))

Ryan blinked in surprise, he hadn't expected Troy to admit his fault. He thought he would be to high and mighty to do this. There was an awkward pause. Ryan's thought process was slow but he thought of what to say next. "So, you'll apologize then, to my sister?"
((I found my motivation! ^^))

Troy looked at Ryan, "Apologize?" He said, blinking. He didnt do anything wrong, did he? Troy slowly put his hands in his pockets, "For what?"
((Yay! ..Why are jocks so stupid? All jocks are all the same! ..i watch too many movies))

Ryan looked at Troy in disbelief again, he wanted to say 'For being a jerk maybe?!' but, he didn't. Instead he sighed and shook his head, "Know what, nevermind. It's fine..." He started to back away, "I should leave anyway...see ya." He turned around and started to walk away.
((lol, yeah, I know!))
