Olive walked up to the new Pie Shop and stared at the door she had yet to enter. So many memories came flooding back, it wasn't the same Pie Hole but still, it felt very much the same. Did she really want to do this? Did she want to enter into something she just left? She sighed and bit her lip in thought. She had told Ned she would stop by. As a person pushed by her to enter the Pie shop she realized she couldn't just stand there forever! Time to go in.
She walked into the Pie Hole and looked around. It looked quite the same as the home she had just left. Olive smiled, she found it odd that she wasn't behind the counter working at the shop. It felt very strange. She was wearing a pretty green dress with cream trim and, as with most of her clothes the dress showed just a hint of cleavage. The outfit seemed to match Olive's personality very well. The blonde walked up to the counter and sat down. She smiled as she awaited the Pie Maker's arrival.

Ned was in the kitchen, baking his pies. He headed out to get some of the orders of his only customers and headed back to the kitchen to get the work done. He then looked around the empty place. Yes, true, Ned missed everyone, every single person that been into Pie Hole or at least working with him and everything. Ned snapped out of it once the timer ding!.
Ned put on his gloves and took out the pie. He took a knife and cut into two slices and placed it on the plates and headed out to the customers and went back to the kitchen again. Soon he realised someone else had entered the Pie Hole and headed out to see who, or perhaps what the person wanted to order.
"Olive? You're here? You...want some pie?"

The Pie Maker seemed to be working over time as he had taken up her old job as well as his normal one. Ned hadn't heired anyone new. Olive pondered why he would do this when he spotted her. Ned approached her, he seemed surprised that she had actually come. She smiled at his attempt to be courteous by offering her pie. "Hello Ned, maybe later," she looked around, "Things seem pretty busy right now," She bit her lip, "how about I take some orders, to help you out?" Olive saw that he needed her help right now and she was glad to offer it. This of course didn't mean she was working there again just, helping out. She could could go on a walk with Ned and Digby after the place closed for the night. She was rather excited to see Digby as she missed him dearly. Olive watched the Pie Maker as she awaited his answer.

Ned looked at her while wondering what's in her mind as he was waiting for her respond. He then realised his expression had failed him, letting her know how he felt right at the moment. Perhaps he didn't thought about her coming at this point of time. He then looked around before looking back at her.
"Oh..Yeah...Busy...You would? Thanks, that would help.."
As Ned finished his speech, someone raised the hand to catch Ned's attention. Ned decided to take his order but something was filling the air. The aroma of his pie. Ned told the person to give him a minute while he headed back into the kitchen to get the pie out from the oven and cut them into slices.

Olive was happy he had accepted her offer. Poor Ned seemed to have way too much to keep up with. He had to bake pies, answer the phone, take orders and serve people, poor guy! Olive most definitely would help, "Sure, it's no problem." she smiled and followed Ned's gaze to an awaiting costumer but, Ned couldn't aid this man, he had pies cooking. So Olive went right back into the swing of things. She set her purse down behind the counter and grabbed a pen and paper, just in case. She normally could remember each of the orders in her head but, it would help Ned know which pies were needed.
She smiled and walked over to the table and asked the man what he would like, the man seemed confused. "I wasn't asking for you. I need that pie man to give me some pie!"
"Now hold your horses, the pie man is busy at the moment but, I would be delighted to take your request to him." She smiled. "Now, what would you like?"
She took the man's order for a slice of lemon meringue and also for some coffee. She went back to the window to the kitchen and left a piece of paper there with the pie order, "One slice, lemon meringue." she informed Ned. She then turned to fill a cup of coffee for the man.

Ned hurried to bring those pies to those customers of his. He had his sweet smile on while serving them. He then rushed back to the kitchen to get other pies ready for baking while serving the others that were baked to the customers. He finally got back to the kitchen to take a breather or at least had a sip of water but he heard a telephone rang. He sighed and quickly answered the phone and scribbled down the address. He just realised that he had spilled his water onto the pie he was about to put into the oven. He quickly put the phone down once the call ended and hurried back to the pie. He wiped his forehead slightly before threw the pie away and hurried to bake a new one.
After a few minutes, Ned heard Olive called and gave her the signal that he got it. He then took out the freshly baked Lemon Meringue, sliced them and served them onto the plate before serving to the customers. He then headed back to the kitchen to take the rest of the baked pies out.

((Sweet!))
Olive quickly collected more orders, served coffee and wiped down tables as the costumers left. The Pie Hole was quite busy but, Olive didn't mind as waitressing at the little shop was something that came naturally to her. She had been doing it for a while before she had moved. She gave the pie orders to Ned, served some slices and some coffee. It soon slowed down to only a few costumers. It had gotten later and closer to closing, this was probably why there were only a few people left. She served them with a friendly warm smile.
There were quickly only two people remaining as the closing sign was close to going up. Olive was humming a tune and wiping down tables as she waited upon the two remaining costumers who were enjoying their pie. Olive hadn't expected to have done all that she had that day. It was alright though as she didn't mind helping out a friend. That's what Ned was...a friend, nothing more. She wasn't about to get hurt yet again. The little blonde was happy that she would soon get to see her dear friend Digby and catch up with the Pie Maker. She was curious as to why the Pie Maker had moved and why a certain female hadn't followed. Olive bid the last costumers ado and sat down at that counter. She put her hand to her chin to prop herself up as she waited.
"Time to close up shop." Olive called to Ned who was in the kitchen. It was almost like old times...

((I am so sorry for taking forever)) Ned emerged from the kitchen, wiping his brow with the back of his hand. He had spots of flour staining his pure black shirt while his white apron hung from his waist, almost totally clean. He had forgotten how much work was required to mass produce pies with a staff of one. Well, at least it kept his mind off of things, and Olive had helped a lot. It was weird to see her again, to work with her...it was all so nauseatingly familiar. Ned dodged eye contact and took off his apron, revealing that he was wearing jeans.
"um.." He started, glancing up at her but then focusing back on the apron he was strangely folding. "I..wanted to.." Quick glance. "I mean..it was-nice.."Quick glance. "What-what I'm trying to say is..." He sighed and puckered his lips, frustration wrinkling his brow as he finally planted his hands on the counter, abandoning his meticulous apron. With a steady gaze he finally said, "Thank you. For...um," Now his confidence diminished mildly and he was back to his bumble Ned self. "For helping so much, I really need to put some want ads out for staff."

Olive smiled, she honestly had a hard time not smiling. He folded his apron up and stumbled over his words. It was all so very familiar to her. He finally managed to say thank you. She sat up and pushed herself out of the bar stool she was on so that she was standing once more. "Well, what are friends for?" she replied, almost as to reestablish it in her own head. She was surprised Ned hadn't hired anyone to work for him but, Olive at the same time was glad that she had gotten to help all the same. She glanced over at the table which the last two costumers of the day had occupied. Olive walked over to it and wiped it off with a rag, "So, should we clean the floors and then go for our walk? Or," she straighted the napkin holder on the table then turned back to face him, "would you like me to do a quick sweep of the floor while you go get Digby?" The straighting of the napkin holder she had done without thinking. Olive didn't have OCD she was just so used to working at the Pie Hole. It had been her home for quite some time in the past.

Ned paused, his smile wavering at her words, 'well, what are friends for?' He wasn't used to the word 'friends'. He'd never had anyone stick around except for Digby, and Digby was a dog, 'man's best friend', a best friend stuck around, plus he fed and walked Digby so he was practically forced to be his friend and thus 'stick by' him. So, for Olive to call them friends....Olive whom he knew he had hurt before...for her to help him and truly stick by him...It was uncomfortably sweet. Almost tart to someone who was used to naturally and unnoticeably sweet pies. His thoughts were interrupted by Olive's queries. "Hmm..?" He looked up at her, the questions slowly forming in his overly stirred mind. When they had formed into comprehension he shook his head and mumbled some 'ums' before straightening and replying, "I'll sweep the floor later, we should go get Digby and take him for a walk...he's been stuck in my apartment all day and you know what they say about being cooped up too long." He smiled, until he realized he didn't know what they said about being cooped up too long. "Anyway...just..lock up the door and meet me in the kitchen. I'll show you the way up." Ned smiled again and tossed the keys that were in his pocket to Olive before disappearing into the kitchen again and straightening some things while waiting for Olive.

Olive leaned against the table and awaited Ned's answer. She watched him as he um'ed. Why did he have to be so cute? She looked away and glanced about at the shop. He then spoke and her attention was back on him.
"I'll sweep the floor later, we should go get Digby and take him for a walk...he's been stuck in my apartment all day and you know what they say about being cooped up too long."
She smiled and nodded her head until she also realized she didn't know what they say about being cooped up too long. She stopped and looked slightly perplexed as the Pie maker did. He continued, "Anyway...just..lock up the door and meet me in the kitchen. I'll show you the way up."
She smiled back and caught the keys that he had thrown her. "Okay!" Olive watched him go into kitchen then turned to go do as she had been instructed. She looked through the keys and found the one to the door. Olive placed it into the keyhole and locked it. She went to the kitchen to meet the Pie Maker. "All locked up." She set the keys down on the counter.

Ned stood at the fridge, his face stoic, as if concealing some deeper pain. As if he could barely manage to breath. His hand rested on what looked like a crossbreed between a pie and a cupcake...and from the expression that was blooming on his face it seemed that the cup pie had just broken up with him. Olive entered and when he heard the combined sound of her soprano voice and the jingle of his keys he tried to mask his hurting. He slammed the fridge shut. On his fingers. A muted sound of surprise and pain came from him and he brought his hand to his free, unharmed palm and blew on it, as if that would make it better. Well, at least his emotional pain wouldn't be so obvious now. He had always been under the impression that he simply looked miserable all the time, even if he wasn't. It was just how he looked. Along with his black ensemble he was sort of ironically morbid by nature. "Ah-Me too..." He shook his hand out and brought it to his side, trying not to show the throbbing. He smiled, hoping she hadn't noticed his idiocy...or at least that she wouldn't mention it. "It's just upstairs." Ned grabbed his keys from the counter, all the while clenching and unclenching his hand as he made his way to a back door, which he opened for Olive.

Olive looked toward the Pie Maker as she heard him slam the fridge shut. She was about to ask herself what that was all about when she saw his expression was more pained then usual and that he was blowing on his hand. "Ned?" she had a look of concern on her face. She hadn't seen him slam his hand in the door but, assumed there must be a reason for his pain. He quickly tried to brush it aside as though nothing had happened. Olive looked confused but didn't say anything. She saw him still clenching and unclenching his hand. "You ok?" She honestly wanted to help, get him ice, something but, she knew Ned didn't really like people to fuse over him.
She followed him to the back door and was happy to see that chivalry still lived as he opened the door for her. It was strange how such a small gesture could mean so much. She smiled slightly, somewhat surprised, "Thanks." She went through the door which lead to a flight of stairs. "So, how do you like it here?" Olive referred to his new apartment compared to his old one.

Ned nodded, "I'm fine, thank you for asking." he mumbled hurridly, not looking at her but instead at the empty brick stairwell that was before them. He wasn't big on stairs. Stairs had caused him a lot of trouble over the past year...years...especially year. He wasn't an especially clumsy guy, he liked to think he was the average amount of clumsy, but when he was tested daily to not fall on Digby or accidentally brush against Chuck...well, you really began to note how often you really tripped.
"So, how do you like it here?"
Ned followed her into the 'well' and began the ascent to his top floor flat. He hoped she wouldn't find his lack of furniture or neat little nick knacks disturbing (he knew how Olive loved her nick knacks) but she would see how lugging a matching dresser and table ends up seven flights of stairs might be difficult. He was a baker, not a magician. Well... "It's fine. Very safe, very...quiet." He said the last word with difficulty, marveling over how a person who for years had loved his solitude would suddenly find it forbearing. Most days he spent his time in the shop. "I usualy spend my time in the shop," he voiced. "And Digby would too if people didn't find the sight of a golden retriever in a pie shop so disgusting. Even a clean one who values people's personal space."
