"Fine?" Max laughed at this description then continued, "It's BORING! That's what it is. This town has as much life as a graveyard." Max shot out his opinion of the place, not caring much of who was listening. He caught a look from his sister, "Well...It's laid back. I'll give you that." He said with a grin.

Zooey rolled her eyes, and hit her brother on the arm, the way brothers and sisters do. "Max! Come on! It isn't that bad." She smiled, "This town can be whatever you want to make it. It's what you do here that makes it boring or not." The thought of maybe starting a garage band popped into her head, that would be fun.
((I'm kinda changing her a little bit))

Jude wasn't surprised by Max's rant but was rather amused. This was one reason why he enjoyed his friends' company; whilst Jude was softspoken Max just shouted his feelings to the world and didn't care what people thought. This was especially obvious, because, even as they talked now the older lady cleaning the shoes was watching with a bemused expression. Jude lined up his shot and was about to comment but looked back at Zooey instead because she had said something that was pretty ghandi-esque. "Wow, Zo, when'd you become so deep?" He laughed and took his shot which unluckily bent at the last minute and went into the gutter.

Max looked at Zooey and had an amused look on his face at what his sister had said. "Whatever sis." Then he looked at Jude at what he had said about her and turned back to her.

"Yeah," She laughed with that yeah-right look on her face that her brother sometimes borrowed from her, "whatever! I'm just trying to brighten the mood." Zooey replied. She shook her head, silly Jude... "Nice." she said noticing Jude's gutter ball, getting him back for teasing her.

Jude was walking back to take a seat, as it was Max's turn, when Zooey made fun of him. He raised his brows in mock surprise, "Oh, cheeky today, arn't you?" He laughed, deciding to steal her seat instead of being a gentleman. "If that's the way you're gonna be." He sat right next to her and began scooting her off of the seat, hers being the last on row would make her fall onto the cheap plastic floor. Then, if he suceeded, he would splay across the whole row; no room left.

"Hey!" Zooey shouted as Jude attempted to shimmy her right off her seat. It was just her luck, why did the guys always gang up on her? Like at pool party's, the moment she got there, someone; usually her brother; would try to trow her in, and once she got in someone would try to dunk her. It was never in a mean way in was just in a we're playing with you way. It was odd but, it could be fun at times. Zooey wasn't upset about it, that was just the way boys were. She had a brother so, she was used to it.
"Oh no you don't!" she laughed as she tried to push back with her feet on the floor, trying to stay put.

Max picked up his deep blue bowling ball and got up to shoot. He aimed it at the pins and was about to go for it when the giggling behind him stopped him from delivering the blow. He turned around and saw his sister and Jude, playing around on the benches. He got an 'unreal' look on his face and gestured with the hand that was free of the bowling ball, "Do you mind, an artist is at work here."

Zooey stopped and looked over at her brother, she continued to push against Jude so he wouldn't over power her while she was distracted. She made a face and started to laugh again. Her brother, an artist? Haha, yeah right. She stopped rolled her eyes, "Ok, we'll quiet down for your shot, oh master of bowling." She looked over at Jude and shook her head.

Her meager attempts to stop him were nothing for Jude as he continued to overpower her and almost shimmy her off. Just when he was about to be victorious Max went all 'wet blanket' on them.
He laughed at her joke but at Max's look became instantly quiet and serious looking. Jude didn't expect her to keep pushing, but she did. He put his hands out sideways to catch himself as he shifted to the side. His upper body was now on the seat to his right, bottom half still next to Zooey. He stared at Zooey, eyebrows raised, "You little cheater!" He whispered, unable to keep the chuckle in. He repositioned himself to an upright sitting position.

Zooey laughed as well. Jude was in the oddest position right now, it was rather funny. He sat up and she retorted, "Cheater? Were there rules?" She smiled. She glance over at her brother who didn't seem to mind them now. He was so funny sometimes, to think he was an artist of bowling...what a goofball.

Jude laughed at Zooey, the sound echoing through the bolwing alley. It was funny how it could be totally silent and dull one moment and then bam! The fun has arrived. He really did have fun with Max and Zooey, they seemed like family and he felt so natural around them. Considering he didn't have any family of his own with him it made a nice change.
"You bet there are rules, and you're breaking rule number two.." He paused and resitiuated himself, watching Zooey as the tension built up. Finally he said, "No questioning the rules! I think you need a penalty." He seemed completely serious, nodding and face devoud of mirth.

Zooey waited to find out what this so called rule was. It was, 'no questioning of the rules!' Ha! And she needed a penalty. What?! Zooey gawked at this and laughed. She crossed her arms, "And what would that be?"
Jude could be so silly. You really wouldn't think it by just looking at him. He just looked like a smart British dude but, he could really surprise you. He wasn't a super serious Brit, he was, a unique and silly sort of Brit.

At her laughter his 'serious' mask cracked and his lips tilted up wards slightly. He couldn't help but smile at Zooey. When he realized he was smiling he became droll again and got up to pace.
It could only be that you have to..." Jude stalled, taking a slow turn in his pace to face her. He didn't know what she had to do...the possibilities were infinite and he wanted it to be good. Which one, though? Suddenly he spotted the concession stand and paused mid stride. If it had been a cartoon a small lightbulb would have lit up above his shaggy head.
"Buy me some cheese fries." Jude decided, looking at her with an eager grin. This was definitely the best choice for a punishment.

"What?!" Zooey replied. She shook her head and laughed, "Are you serious?" his expression didn't seem to change meaning that he was most definitely serious. Figures a boy would want food to serve as punishment.
Well, two could play at this game! "Fine! But, since it's my money that I'm buying these cheese fries with, I get half, rule number one hundred and twenty three." She smiled at her cleverness.
