Zooey was sitting in homeroom, waiting for the teacher to arrive to make her announcements. This was technically her first homeroom at East High, due to her lateness yesterday. She looked around the room for someone to talk to while she waited. Supposedly the new Principle was making his rounds today and was going to show up in homeroom to make his presence known. He supposedly said it would make it much more personal. He was also going to show up at Miss Darbus' detention and drama class later. He seemed very interested in what the students were doing...or he was bored.
She opened up her notebook and looked at a few things in it before looking up again for someone she knew or someone new to meet.

Xander entered homeroom skating in on his skateboard, which of course was a "no-no". He flipped it up under his arm and walked to his usual spot, somewhat near where the Evans twins usually sat. He smiled at looked over at Zooey, "Hey, first homeroom?"
He had met her at lunch the other day or so but, Xander knew pretty much everyone. He was very curious as to who this new Principle was. He had heard his voice over the loud speakers and it sounded very familiar.
((Bah, shortness))

Zooey was zoned out, thinking about something when she heard Xander's voice. "Huh?" she looked over at him, "Hey!" she smiled, "Well, first one at East High anyway." She wondered what the homeroom teacher was like and now that Xander was here to talk to, he would probably clue her in. She saw a lot of performance posters in the room so, the teacher was probably an arts teacher of some sort. (mine's short too )

Xander chuckled and then said, "It's an experience, that's for sure." He went on to explain, deciding to not just leave her hanging, "The teacher is Mrs. Darbus, she's East High's drama teacher and, she's really into what she does." He looked around the class room, it was 5 minutes till and it still wasn't full. This wasn't unusual. He looked at the clock and back at Zooey.

Liz walked into homeroom. She was wearing jeans and a heavy Aero sweatshirt. She had her binder in her hand and her ipod plugged in. Another year of homeroom with Darbus she sighed. She looked around seeing too other kids in the room that she didnt know. Liz took her usually seat and waited for her brother or someone to chat to.

Michael was making the rounds, popping in everywhere he could to introduce himself. He wanted to be a friend to the students, maybe even go to the big parties. He had no sense of boundries, really. Whether it be age or literal boundries. He popped into all of the bathrooms to see the students there before making his way to homeroom. Of course he had been cussed out by the student body or screamed at but he just figured they were PMSing.
Michael had worn his favorite suit , for good impressions, and an Usher tye. Who knew they had those, but he searched until he found something that would connect with the kids. As the man lay his hand on the doorknob to homeroom he took a deep breath and looked around the emptying halls. He was early, which he didn't like. He had wanted to surprise them but Olive had told him to go early so he didn't interupt. Michael liked Olive but she could be a total weirdo about rules or whatever.
As he was standing there a large, phylis-like woman, who seemed to love color and scarves, approached. They looked at eachother, almost staring the other down and then both began to speak at the same time, "This is my-" "Can I help you?"
They paused, eyebrows down, then tried again, getting the same results. Finally the woman had to gesture to Michael that he could speak first, which he did. "Can I help you?" He asked, still holding the doorknob in one hand and turning to face her. The woman pursed her lips and reagusted her glasses before responding that she was the homeroom teacher. After a moment of calculating silence the 'Rainbow Phylis' said he was in her way.
Michael was begining to really resent this woman but politely opened the door for her to go in, only to stick his tongue out at her back. Then he entered as well, interupting her welcoming speach with his own.
"HEY! Hey, guys, what is UP, everbody? Ready to learn?" He laughed, as if learning were a joke, only to explain...that it was... "Ofcourse you arn't, who wants to do that. Except for this large boring weirdo over here." Michael pointed at the flabbergasted Rainbow Phylis.
"My name is Principle Michael Scott and I am...your new principle."

Xander smiled at Liz as he of course knew her through her brother. He turned to face the front as the door opened. In came Miss Darbus and...Xander's mouth dropped open. The soundtrack from "Psycho" played in his head as he stared in horror at this other person. It was, his dad! No one at East High had ever met his dad so no one else would be able to discern this, that is until his dad said something about being his dad, which he probally would. Why was he there?!
Xander wished he had a hoodie, he would have put the hood up. Then he caught what his father had said...he was the Principle... Was he asleep? Was he stuck in a nightmare?! He pinched himself- nope, he was awake. He was doomed. Xander tried to slump down in his chair, still looking shocked as ever.

"Thanks for the heads up." Zooey replied to Xander. She watched Liz enter the class room and sit down. Zooey acknowledged her with a friendly, "Hey there!" and smiled.
Then the door opened and she turned to face front again. There was a woman in colorful garb, Miss Darbus, she guessed and a man in a suit. He was kind of rude to poor Miss Darbus and then he said he was the Principle. She straightened up in her seat, even though she was pretty sure he wouldn't care.
Zooey looked over at Xander and was perplexed by his reaction. He looked shocked and like he was trying to hide. "Xander, what's wrong?" she whispered.

" Hey!" Liz said smiling at Zooey and Xander. She sighed looking around for her brother just as Darbus and the new principal walked in. Liz was shocked at how the principal interupted Ms.Darbus as she was about to speak. He seems cool ... I guess. She turned looking at Zooey and Xander , wanting to see how they reacted. Xander's face was shell shocked and Zooey's was calm and cool. Liz wondered why Xander was so shocked. Maybe he knew the principal from somewhere? She looked back at the new principle...and then back at Xander. Hmm... somethings going on between them.

Ryan entered homeroom ahead of his sister who was taking her time in the powder room. Normally he would walk to his usual seat and sit down but today he stopped and stared at the sight before him. There was a man in a suit with a strange tie in front of the class and a very disturbed and upset looking Miss Darbus.
He stood there and stared for a moment before Miss Darbus spotted him and said something, "Ah Ryan, please take your seat."
He snapped out of his confused state, "Huh? Oh!" Ryan nodded his head slightly and walked to his spot. He sat down, still slightly confused as to what was going on.

There was a long pause where Michael and his students stared at one another. To the student it might have seemed that he was waiting for applause or something. If you knew Michale you would know that to be true. Luckily the awkward moment was broken when Ryan entered and cued Michael to move on. They'd get over their surprise that a principle cared enough to visit in person. Then they'd love him.
"But I am more than that. I am also...You're friend." Dramatic pause as he walked closer to the front row kids. "I know, a principle who's a friend, crazy, right? Well maybe for principle china-town but he's gone. Went back..to China town.." Mike said in a 'Chinese' accent.
"Hehe, so, now you know a bit about me. I want to know about you, to start this family off right." Michael was standing right in front of Zooey who had been unfortunate enough to have sat in front. He smiled at her and then announced that he wanted her to tell them something interesting about herself and 'oh yeah' her name. As he was saying this Sharpay had walked in and sat down in her usual seat. (Sorry it's not the best.)

(It's cool)
Zooey looked at the Principal. Of course, of course he would choose her to go first! She found this generally happened in most groups. In choir she was always chosen to be the example of how to breath or stand or walk even. She didn't mind too much, it was actually kind of amusing. Zooey smiled and agreed to do this task, while staying seated, she didn't know to stand up or not. She turned in her seat a bit so not to face the front completely.
"Hi! I'm Zooey Summers and, I like to play my acoustic guitar in my spare time."
She didn't know if that was enough or not but, she'd soon find out. Zo looked over at Xander who still looked as though he was trying to hide. She mouthed the word 'what?' to him in her confusion, looking somewhat perplexed.

Michael grinned at Zooey's willingness to participate. Things were going better then he even imagined! Well..that wasn't completely true. He hadn't had a parade in his honor, a musical about his ruling the school as a friend, and then there was the small Jordan and Xander ordeal..oh well, things weren't going badly, so life was good.
"Zooey Summers, everybody!" He repeated, applauding loudly for her and expecting everyone to do the same. "Hey! I play the guitar too!" He told her, after realizing what she had said. Truthfully all he could play was smoke on the water, and he wasn't even good at it. Zooey was mouthing something to someone, though, and he followed her gaze to see...
"ALEX!" He shouted, mouth open in glee and arms spread out in a 'hug me' fashion. Michael walked through the aisle to his son's desk and looked at the other students. "This is my son, Alex, everyone, can you believe it? Haha, chip off the old block, huh?" As he announced this he switched from ruffling Xander's hair to patting his shoulder lovingly.

Zooey looked somewhat freaked out by Michael's response. Wow, he was enthusiastic. She tried to smile and nod, if Max and Jude were in this class they would be laughing right now.
And then something odd happened. "Alex!" the man shouted as he ran over to Xander. What the... "This is my son, Alex, everyone, can you believe it? Haha, chip off the old block, huh?"
This class was trying into a soap opera. She looked shocked as she stared at the pair. So that's why Xander was hiding. This is not something you want the whole homeroom to know. This was not good.

Ryan was kind of taken aback by this new Principle's method. He was very theatrical in some ways but also, kinda strange. He looked at Zooey as she spoke, he hadn't seen the blonde before. She must be another new person, He thought. She seemed nice too. He looked to his sister for her reaction to the strange events that were unfolding. Then the Principal yelled out a name he didn't recognize. Alex...could he mean... The man walked over to Xander. Oh no. Ryan looked quite surprised, they were related? That was just weird! So the strange kid who was always trying to talk to him and his sister was the Principals kid. Hopefully none of his skater friend's were in the room. None of the basket ball boys were or Xander would never hear the end of it.
