The theater was somewhat dark. The work lights were still on stage though, providing enough light. The auditorium lights were turned lightly on as well, indicating that someone was in the theater that knew how the lights worked. The stage had a few props and set pieces on it from one of the school's previous productions. Also on stage there stood a boy, a boy named Ryan Evans.
He had been told by his doctor to take it easy and that he might not be totally back to normal by the time of the spring musical additions but, Ryan just didn't want to believe it! He couldn't. The theater was his life and he wasn't about to let Chad ruin that for him too. He sighed and looked out at the empty chairs. He needed to start planning the dance routine his sister and him would do. He didn't know what song she would choose but, he could still try out some new moves anyway.
Ryan had stretched as much as he could and decided to try some. He stood on center stage with his back to the audience and pushed his kangol hat down. He then twirled around to face front and looked up in a very "Chicago" manner. He walked forward and tried some other moves, making it very smooth. Then, of course he added, a jazz square. He twisted around and did a swing move and ouch! He put his hand to his side and stopped, bent slight. He wasn't in extreme pain just slight pain. Oh darn.

Sharpay was walking in the hallway, wearing strappy heels, blue jean capris and a pink sequin tank. Her hair had a pink flower in it and was in soft curls. Her mood was anything but soft, though. All day she had been dissuading Ryan rumors and protecting him from the grape vine sharks. People could be so cruel, honestly, who would seriously think she would beat him up for doing a dance combo wrong! She needed to get some anxiety out, and the only way she knew how was performing. It did a girl wonders. Just standing onstage with a mic made Shar feel like the star she was.
She entered the theater, a smile finally almost appearing on a face that hadn't for a while, when she saw Ry doubled over. The smile vanished, replaced by shock and fear. She ran to him, or tried in her expensive yet amazingly flimsy shoes, and called out, "Ry! Are you ok?" Sharpay hadn't seen him practically all day and had been wondering where he was. This calmed her a bit but he still looked so hurt. Soon she was standing besides him, leaning over to get a good look at his face and see if he was alright.

Ryan clenched his teeth together from the pain. Great, what had he done? One of his ribs must have shifted wrong or something, he wasn't sure. The boy was generally a nice person but, at this moment he wished that he could get back at Chad somehow. He suppressed the feeling for now when he realized, Sharpay had entered the theater. The next moment she was bending over to look at him.
He lifted his head and looked her in the eye. "Yes, just- pulled something." he replied a bit shaky. Ryan tried to move up a bit from his bent position. He looked at his sister sheepishly, "I didn't stretch as much as usual." He grinned as much as his still slightly swollen cheek would allow. He breathed slowly and tried to stand up straight.
It hurt as he slowly bent back up but once he got there and something, snapped back into place, he felt much better. He was still a bit sore, to be sure, but the pain from something being out of place was gone. Ryan sighed in relief & looked over at Sharpay. He hoped it was just a "him not stretching" thing and not something that would ruin his chance to be in the lime light.
((w00t I included the board's name! yay!))

Sharpay heard his ragged breathing and saw that the swollen face of her superstar brother was even worse than before. A crease wore in between her eyesbrows and she stepped further back, as if that would help dull the bruises.
"Yes, just- pulled something. I didn't stretch as much as usual."
Sharpay's mouth opened in surprise; was he lying to her? Ryan hardly ever lied to Sharpay, or he never used to. He really wasn't good at it, which was surprising because he was an actor. Ever since they were little she could tell when he was fibbing because his nostrils would flare up, she even mentioned how unattractive it was but she guessed he wouldn't remember that.
The other way she could tell he was lying was because he couldn't have pulled something in his abdomin if he was doing the simple dance moves they had been practicing and she very well knew he had a broken rib. She wasn't stupid, duh.
After a moment of thoughtful silence Shar shook her head, she wanted to take care of him like he had always seemed to take care of her but she didn't want to hurt his pride. That would be even more painful than the broken ribs in Sharpay's mind. So, she did what she thought was best and shrugged at him.
"Whatever." [/color] She said as casually as she could muster. It came out like a perfectly rehearsed line, normal, uncaring. "Do you want to go over the dance routine we've been practicing?"[/blockquote]

Ryan knew his sister, he hadn't fooled her but, she decide to let it go. This put Ryan at ease again. That look of concern and caring that she had given was nice but at the same time it made him feel week. He was happy his sister knew him so well. It was strange how they were so alike in some ways.
At the mention of practicing their dance routine, Ryan's thoughts of revenge quickly dissipated. He loved dancing. He had choreographed most of the routine himself with suggestions from Sharpay here and there, of course. "Do you even have to ask?" Ryan replayed, smiling slightly. He made sure his fedora was securely on his head. He went off to the left wing of the stage, "From the top?" Sharpay was usually the sibling in charge of things so with this simple statement, Ryan had handed control back over to her.
((Just dancing, or dancing and singing...and you can start off the dance because, ur the Alfa Sibling, lol))

(haha, alfa sibling. The song is Reach by S club, btw. Not that you don't know.) She noticed the change in him immediately and patted herself on the back for it. Call it a freaky twin thing but she knew Ry better than anyone, mention dance and he lights up. Besides which they really could use the practice. Though she didn't know what the musical would be she needed the audition to top all of their others. Now that they had real competition she needed to step it up and have this be mind blowing-ly perfect. When Shar found out what show it was (and she would find out) she could add some flavors from the era into it.
Sharpay now stood stage right, she was doing her pre-show exercises. She watched Ryan, not noticing him hand over the power, she had never noticed that it had truly been taken. As she rolled her tongue she raised her eyebrows at him, cutting off his hope to 'start from the top'. They had to be mentally and physically prepared.
Finally she waved her hands over her face as if a curtain was going down, this was her closing move. When her hand was back at her side she had her 'game face' on. The music player was on his side, their CD still safely inside. Shar nodded at Ryan and counted the beats aloud, "Five, six, seven, eight."
Sharpay enter the stage with her back to the audience, her hands to her side and foot tapping to the upbeat tempo. When the music swelled her hand rose and she sang the first lyrics after spinning to face the audience. "When the world, leaves you feeling blue.." She pointed to the imaginary viewers. "You can count on me." When she mentioned herself her hands landed on her chest, an earnest look of comfort on her face. Sharpay swayed with the music at the end of her solo. "I will be there for you." The choreography was simple for the first part of the dance but it got some wow factor later.

Sharpay started to warm up and Ryan decided to do the same. After all, what use would it be to stand there and watch her prepare? Ryan did some lip buzzes followed by some bizarre hand movements. He finished and looked over at his sister, who was finishing up her ceremonial preparations.
He stretched his arms as he continued to watch Sharpay, waiting for her to finish. Finally he noted her closing move, her signature curtain close, he knew that now she was ready to go. Ryan noted the music player on his side with their CD mix already in it. He pushed it to life so it would begin with the opening track. He waited on Sharpay's count and then pressed play.
The music started and he watched Sharpay from his wing of the stage. He was ready for his entrance. He watched her flawless moves and smiled. The chirography was really good for this number. No doubt this year they would have a shot at the lead roles of whatever show was thrown their way.
After she finished the opening lines, Ryan entered from stage left. He slid in smoothly, "When it seems-" crossing his left foot behind him. He put his hand to his fedora on his head and slid it to the right, "all your hopes and dreams-" He crossed his right foot to his side so his now faced the audience next to Sharpay. "are a million miles away." he gestured with his hand the distance and then put his hand to his chest, "I will re-a-sure-" he gestured to Sharpay(or the audience?) with his other hand, "you."

(To the Aud, and these moves are hard to explain/write, but I'll show u in person sometime. ) As Shar and Ryan both sang they also both did the same choreography. The choreography Ryan had come up with in one of his most brilliant moments. Honestly, having a choreographer as a brother was so useful sometimes. The steps were, if you were on stage right, as Sharpay was, that you bring your right foot over to the left of your left foot and hopped onto it. Then you brought your left foot back on the normal side of your right and put your weight back onto it. After you bring your right foot off the ground and then set your heel down. All the while the person to the left (Ryan) did the same moves but with opposite foot work so that the two ended in the middle and when they hopped onto their other foot and brought their heel up they bumped hips. It was sort of a silly, amateur move but it was campy and Ms. D would think it was cute, that was all that mattered. The words to this move were, "We've got to all stick together,"
For the next lyrics, "Good friends, there for eachother.." Sharpay, a la 'What I've Been Looking For' sneaks around Ryan and taps him on his left shoulder and then does her famous 'toodles' wave. Giving the dance some of their own traits and recurring themes supposedly would endear them to their audience. Finally, for "Never, Ever forget that I've got you and you've got me," (which slowed as the music built toward the chorus) Sharpay, who was now on his left, gave Ryan her right hand which he took in his right hand. Sharpay loved the next two moves, something about the upcoming spinning got the child in Sharpay (the bitter and spoiled child) very giddy. But she didn't want to think about that and get ahead of herself, since she still had to be pulled in by Ry so that she was on his right side and encased by both their arms. Then she easily spun out on his right arm, hand up, before hopping, kneeling, and pointing at the other whilst still holding hands, and then standing and being twirled back in.
